Nissan is working overtime to improve the LEAF’s battery.
A new and enhanced battery could allow for lower costs and boost the car’s flagging sales, Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn mentioned.
“There is a second generation of battery coming which is less expensive than the earlier one,” Mr. Ghosn mentioned in an interview Friday. “We are in a race in which you minimize the fees and adapt the cost.”
In 2009 Nissan announced they had been operating on a long range lithium-ion battery
