UPDATE: Japanese R&D firm SIM-Drive earlier this week launched their second generation wheel motor powered prototype, the SIM-WIL. The automobile delivers 351 km (218 miles) of range from a 35 kWh battery, and accelerates from -100 km/h in five.four seconds. SIM-Drive are searching to get the final production model on sale in 2014.
The auto is equipped with four Direct Drive 65 kW / 700 Nm Outer Rotor BLDC PM Wheel Motors, a single in each wheel, giving the automobile a total of 260 kW
