Dow Energy Supplies, a enterprise unit of The Dow Chemical Company, has developed a new phosphate-based battery material, Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate (LMFP), which increases power density by ten to 15 percent in battery cells. As a result, this engineering can allow power storage systems to weigh less and demand fewer cells, which in turn can decrease expense.
